Forum rules F.A.Q.

These are some details about the forum rules. It does not modify the official rules; it is rather a guide and giving examples. Just because some examples are not listed here, it does not mean that they are not governed by the official rules. Moderators and staff have a final say in what is deemed appropriate. Whenever you are in doubt, just send a message to the moderators/admins to ask for clarification before posting any questionable content.

 The common sense :

1.You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful or toxic, rude, harassing, obscene (this includes offensive language of any sort including simulated, insinuated and abbreviated swearing), profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. This also applies to uploaded images or videos, user profiles and avatars.

Q: Can I call someone or someone’s opinion dumb?

A: Definitely no.

Q: What if they said something really dumb that makes me facepalm really hard?

A: Still no. Just explain what is it that is wrong, but do not insult a person or try to offend someone.

Q: This player insulted me with his post. I want to fire back!

A: Please don’t. Use the flag function and let us take care of it. Do not get triggered into violating the forum rules yourself.

Q: The automatic filter has replaced my swear word with stars. Can I leave it like that?

A: No, please edit your post and don’t swear at all.

Q: Can I use special characters or abbreviate or use acronyms to swear?

A: No. Swearing is swearing no matter how you try to sugarcoat it. It is not necessary.

Q: Why do you think it is necessary to not swear at all in the forum?

A: Next to it being unpleasant and not necessary to make a point, the forum can be read by members of any age through search engines or by guest readers. It can offend readers and create an unattractive environment.

Q: Can I just open a topic to rant about everything in the game and let off some steam?

A: You will probably be considered toxic.

Q: So?

A: We want players to enjoy the forum. Toxic postings decrease the mood of everybody. Possible moderation options are banning and warnings.

Q: Everything about the game makes me angry. Can I tell the world?

A: If you are civil and constructive in your posts, please post why something in the game disappoints you. You could also make suggestions on how to improve the feature. You can also say that you dislike something and why. But if you just want to rant and to create an unpleasant experience for everybody you will be considered toxic.

Q: I have received a message to stick to the forum rules. What will happen if I don’t?

A: You could be banned at the moderator’s discretion.

Q: Is a written message with a warning as official as a warning in the topic?

A: You should always listen to the moderator’s warnings; otherwise you could receive warning points or be banned, depending on circumstances and the infringements.

:gift_heart:The make it look nice and fitting:

19.Help keeping the forum tidy! Make the effort to put things in the right place, so that we can spend more time discussing and less cleaning up. Topics in the wrong category may be moved, closed or deleted. So:

  • Don’t start a topic in the wrong category.
  • Don’t cross-post the same thing in multiple topics.
  • Don’t post no-content replies.
  • Don’t divert a topic by changing it midstream.
  • Don’t sign your posts – every post has your profile information attached to it.
  • Rather than posting “+1” or “Agreed,” use the Like button. But, if you want to explain why you like/dislike something, please do. That is very valuable!
  • Rather than taking an existing topic in a radically different direction, use Reply as a New Topic. (Don’t go off-topic).
  • Use the standard formatting.

Q: I see a user is posting in the wrong forum. Can I let him know what the right forum would be?

A: Yes. Helping is welcome.

Q: I see a user is being unpleasant and insulting other users. Can I tell him this is wrong and how he should behave?

A: No. Flag the posts in question and let the moderators deal with it. Do not engage in an off-topic discussion. The person in question might defend itself and derail the topic even further.

Q: Can I post “Awesome idea” or “bad idea”.

A: Yes, because it is relevant to the topic. But it could further be improved by letting the poster know, why you think it is an awesome or bad idea.

Q: Can I post “Thank you” after every post on my topic?

A: No. Consolidate your replies into a single post. Only comment when you can add to the topic discussion.

Q: Can I post unrelated, random text on a topic?

A: No, that is what the off-topic section is for.

Q: Can I just say I am not interested in a post?

A: No. Maybe somebody else is interested in the post. If nobody is interested the topic will just die. It is not necessary to discourage members from posting stuff about the game they care about.

  1. These forums are English only. If you post in another language than in English your post might get deleted, moved or locked. However, in the Alliance subforums (search alliance and search players), feel free to use the language you prefer.

Q: Somebody posted in a different language than English. Can I let him know that English is the primary language in the forum?

A: Yes, but the poster is responsible for adjusting the post himself.

Q: Can I post in English and in my native language?

A: Yes, but the translated English must be true to the post in the native language

Q: Since I can post in a preferred language in the Alliance subforums does it mean I do not have to stick to the rest of the forum rules?

A: Of course not. The forum rules still apply.

:warning: The we want to be safe:

21.We do not remove posts or accounts of other players on request.

Q: Can I ask you to ban a player from the game?

A: You can let us know that you suspect someone of cheating via a private message to @Madlen (Royal Revolt 2) or @CaptainMorgan (Olympus Rising), but we will still investigate if there is enough proof to ban that player and we won’t take action if this is not the case.

Q: Can I ask you to remove a post because I feel offended?

A: You can flag such a post. We will check at our discretion and see if the post hurts the CoC.

22.We do not monitor private messages actively. However, we have the technical possibility of checking them if reported for abuse.

23.Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.

24.The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to flag the content. We do not scan the messages proactively for infringing or objectionable content. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we are informed and determine that removal is necessary.

25.We do not assume any responsibility for third party links and do not endorse the content behind those links.

  1. We delete users who have not activated their account (verified their email) or inactive users (trust level 0 without any posts) after 365 days.

Thanks for reading! If you have more questions, please reach out to our moderator @Archimedes or @Madlen and @CaptainMorgan.
