Landscapes?

Is there any practical in game uses for different landscapes other than the color and hiding effect of trees?  Wanted to know if certain ones block spells from full range?

Dark landscapes (Graveyard and Burning Rocks) are used to camouflage towers/troops with the environment.

Light landscapes (Northland and Chrismas Woods) are used slightly less to camouflage towers but more to hide cursor mouse of PC users.

Landscapes don’t affect mechanics of the game. But some kind of landscapes can trigger easter eggs. (Penguin from the Dungeon Gate with the Northland and Christmas Woods).

They have different soundtracks both in castle view and in combat.
